Blanche meets with Epstein survivors after lawmaker’s meeting requirement

Todd Blanche

Todd Blanche, the acting Attorney General and nominee for the permanent position, met with survivors of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes on Thursday following pressure from senators during his nomination hearings this week.

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) stated that he would not vote to advance Blanche’s nomination out of the Senate Judiciary Committee unless the nominee met with Epstein survivors who have contacted the Justice Department. Tillis indicated he has a “positive predisposition” toward Blanche following the nominee’s testimony before the committee.

The meeting took place after Blanche’s several hours of questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. A Department of Justice source confirmed the Thursday afternoon meeting with the survivors occurred at the DOJ.
