Scattered showers were expected to occur before noon with clearing expected by late afternoon, and additional rain activity was anticipated Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.
In response to the severe weather, authorities urged residents to prepare for potential flooding, particularly in areas with a history of flood-prone streets. Officials reminded boaters of monsoon safety after three teens were safely rescued when caught in a severe storm on Saguaro Lake. Local governments made sandbags available at multiple locations throughout the Valley for residents seeking flood protection.
