Arizona State University has ended its court battle over a 124-year-old home in downtown Phoenix, deciding to allow the property to remain standing. The university had previously pursued legal action to acquire the lot, which it said was needed for its planned medical school headquarters.

With the decision to drop the legal fight, ASU plans to revise its design for the nearby health headquarters to accommodate the historic residence. The resolution ends a dispute over the property, which the university had indicated was essential to its campus development plans.
