Mia Bieniemy, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, was shot at the couple’s Northern Virginia home over the weekend. Their son, Elijah Zion Bieniemy, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
According to Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid, Mia Bieniemy has been receiving treatment for gunshot wounds and has been released from the ICU, where she is “making progress.” Eric Bieniemy was absent from the Chiefs’ first full-squad training camp workout on Wednesday as he remained with his family.
Additional video and audio evidence from the shooting has emerged, though sources have not provided complete details regarding the circumstances leading to the incident or the current status of the investigation.
