Two U.S. service members were killed and one remains missing following Iranian attacks on Friday involving ballistic missiles and drones targeting locations in Jordan, according to U.S. Central Command. The attacks occurred as partner forces were defending against the Iranian assault.
According to reporting from The Hill, four additional American service members were “medically evacuated” to hospitals in Jordan and have since been discharged. Other troops who sustained minor injuries were evaluated and have returned to duty. CENTCOM announced the casualties and missing service member status on Saturday.
The incident marks a significant military engagement in the region and has been reported across major news outlets, including Fox News, NPR, NBC News, the New York Post, and The Hill, all confirming the same basic details of the casualties and missing personnel.
