The Atlanta Dream routed the Los Angeles Sparks 124-88 on Thursday night, with Angel Reese delivering one of the most efficient offensive performances of her WNBA career. Reese finished 30 minutes of play with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, making all nine of her field-goal attempts, including two 3-pointers. She came within two assists of a triple-double but sat out most of the fourth quarter with the game already decided.
Historic shooting and Dream records
Reese made her first eight field goals in succession, then grabbed an offensive rebound for a putback to extend the streak to nine consecutive makes without a miss—a new Dream franchise record. The 36-point victory margin allowed her to rest while the Dream set a franchise scoring record with 124 points. The shooting display represented the most efficient offensive outing of Reese’s WNBA career.
Offensive rebounding milestone
Reese also reached a league milestone, breaking her own single-season record for offensive rebounds. She entered the game needing two offensive boards to surpass the 172 she collected during her 2024 rookie season with the Chicago Sky. She grabbed three in the first half, bringing her season total to 173 and making her the owner of the two highest single-season offensive rebounding totals in WNBA history. The previous league record of 162 offensive rebounds was set by Yolanda Griffith of the Sacramento Monarchs in 2001.
Team record and recent form
The win improved Atlanta to 23-13 and extended their winning streak against Los Angeles to eight games. The performance continued Reese’s strong play following Sunday’s loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. She had recorded a double-double in Tuesday’s 97-82 victory over the Las Vegas Aces before the dominant effort against the Sparks.
