The Ligue 1 2026/27 season is underway. Paris Saint-Germain enters as the dominant force, having won five consecutive Ligue 1 titles through the 2025/26 campaign while also defending their Champions League crown. PSG manager Luis Enrique is in the best spell of his managerial career with the club.
Contenders and the field
RC Lens pushed PSG hard last season and is expected to challenge for the title again in 2026/27. Traditional contenders Marseille, Lyon, and Lille are also expected to compete for European qualification spots by the end of the season.
