“60 Minutes” has announced four new correspondents and contributors joining the news program ahead of its 59th season. The additions include Ross Douthat, an opinion columnist at the New York Times; Sebastian Junger, an author and journalist; Gianna Toboni; and Trevor Phillips.
Douthat’s move to “60 Minutes” marks a transition from his role as a leading voice in the New York Times opinion section, where he has served as a columnist. The announcement represents part of what sources describe as a broader effort by CBS News to bring on new journalistic talent for the upcoming season.
