Simultaneously, India’s youth-led “Cockroach” movement, which previously forced the resignation of the education minister through nationwide protests, has accused the government of breaking its commitments regarding student protesters. The movement has reported mass arrests of student activists across multiple states, including Delhi, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar.
The Cockroach Janta party has threatened to restart demonstrations, claiming the government failed to honor promises not to take action against protest participants. The developments reflect ongoing tensions between student activism, government education policy, and institutional operations in India.
