Phoenix is heading into an active stretch of monsoon weather this week. Storm chances start out modest, around 20%, but climb steadily as the week goes on — reaching roughly 40% by Wednesday and 50–60% by Thursday and Friday.
Heat remains a factor too. Tuesday and Wednesday could peak near 109 degrees, and with high humidity in the mix, it may feel closer to 110–117 degrees. Higher elevations and areas near recent wildfire burn scars face an elevated risk of heavy rain and flash flooding as storm activity increases.
Relief is expected by the end of the week, as more widespread rain brings cooler air into the Valley — highs are forecast to drop into the upper 90s by Friday, with low 100s over the weekend.
