The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ministry of Health reported at least 930 deaths from the country’s Ebola outbreak as of Saturday. The deaths represent a case fatality rate of approximately 40 percent, based on 2,344 confirmed cases reported by health authorities.
In the 24 hours prior to the Saturday report, the ministry recorded 37 new deaths, representing one of the highest daily tallies since the outbreak began. The continued spread and mortality rate underscore the severity of the health crisis in the affected regions of Congo.
