The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) and nine member school districts have reached an agreement on funding transportation to the Mesa campuses, clearing the way for classes to resume on Monday. The agreement addresses concerns that had been raised about how the districts would cover transportation costs for the new school year.
According to ABC15, the agreement includes a $5 million transportation investment. The deal was reached after media coverage highlighted the funding dispute, which had threatened to delay the start of classes for students attending EVIT’s Mesa-based programs.
EVIT serves students from multiple East Valley school districts, providing career and technical education opportunities. The resolution of the transportation funding dispute allows the institution to proceed with its school year operations as scheduled.
