Officials in Kenya are investigating the deaths of elephants in Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya. The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) reported finding multiple elephants dead over the past month, with sources reporting between 14 and 15 deaths. According to reports, this represents the highest number of elephant deaths recorded in this area in decades.
The investigation has revealed concerning symptoms in some of the deceased animals. The KWS indicated that 10 of the elephants showed signs of partial paralysis before dying within two days of symptom onset. A potential toxic substance has been detected in several of the animals, though details about the nature and source of this substance have not yet been fully disclosed.
