Glen Hansard, an Oscar-winning songwriter and musician, has died in a motorbike crash in Dublin. The 56-year-old won the Academy Award for best song for “Falling Slowly” from the 2007 low-budget musical film Once. Hansard was also known for his work as an actor and musician beyond his Oscar-winning achievement.
In a separate incident, French DJ Kavinsky has died at age 50, according to a statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office. Kavinsky gained international recognition for his electronic music, particularly his hit “Nightfall,” which was featured on the Drive film soundtrack and performed at the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony.
