Typhoon Noul made landfall in southern China, striking Guangdong province and Hong Kong with strong winds and heavy rainfall. State media reported that Noul is the strongest typhoon to make landfall in China so far this year, marking a significant weather event for the region.
Hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated ahead of the typhoon’s arrival as authorities prepared for its impact. Footage from affected areas showed damage including scaffolding tumbling from buildings in Hong Kong and widespread aftermath across the coastal regions of southeast China.
The typhoon brought severe weather conditions to the densely populated southern coastal areas, with residents and emergency services mobilized in response to the storm.
