Hernandez and Rodrigues heading into main event

California native Hernandez, ranked No. 5 at middleweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, entered the fight seeking to rebound from a loss to Sean Strickland. That defeat snapped an eight-fight win streak and likely cost him a title shot. Hernandez has built a reputation for finishing opponents, with notable wins over Roman Dolidze, Michel Pereira, Roman Kopylov, Edmen Shahbazyan, and Rodolfo Vieira.
