Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is visiting the United Kingdom to meet with newly appointed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham. Zelensky will be Burnham’s first foreign leader visitor since taking office, with the meeting scheduled to take place at a UK naval base.
Burnham has pledged Britain’s “unwavering support” for Ukraine during the visit, emphasizing the continued commitment from the new British government. The meeting comes shortly after former UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit to Kyiv in what was described as his final foreign visit in that role.
The visit to London precedes Zelensky’s planned trip to Washington on Tuesday, indicating an active schedule of diplomatic engagements for the Ukrainian president.
