Typhoon Noul made landfall in southern China, striking Guangdong province and Hong Kong with strong winds and heavy rain. According to state media, the typhoon is the strongest to make landfall in China so far this year. The storm has resulted in at least 10 deaths, with hundreds of thousands of people evacuated from the affected regions.
The typhoon brought severe weather conditions including flash flooding across multiple parts of China. Video footage captured dramatic scenes of damage, including scaffolding tumbling from a building in Hong Kong as the typhoon made landfall. The coastal regions of southern China experienced particularly intense impacts from the storm system.
