According to CBS News’ executive director of elections and surveys Anthony Salvanto, Americans feel the Iran war is not going well, with sentiment tied to concerns about how long it will continue, the information being provided about the conflict, and economic impacts on the country.
Republican Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana has suggested that ending the Iran war soon “seems unlikely” under current circumstances. Cassidy has called for a broader national discussion on the path forward, recommending that President Trump consult with Congress to develop a strategy toward peace. Meanwhile, some Republicans argue the U.S. should continue pressing for additional concessions in the conflict.
